Since March 2016, the newly elected PWA board has been working hard to run a fundraising campaign. The aim is to purchase the building which has housed us on Darvills Lane since 2007.
This is an urgent matter; to secure the heritage of the Pakistani community in Slough for generations to come, and because time is of the essence. The window of opportunity to make the purchase will close within a few months.
The fundraising goal is to reach £330,000, Whilst our community is on the way to reaching our goals, we will need your continued help and support, and financial generosity.
We have set up a permanent donation board at the entrance to PWA Slough, which lists all community members who have donated sums of £1000 or more. Here’s how it looks as donations come – plenty of gaps to be filled!
We’re delighted to publish a list of all generous donors so far, who we appreciate for their kind support:
Whilst every effort is made to ensure full transparency of funds, we ask that if you spot a discrepancy, to kindly ring the number below to rectify this.Transparency is vital to our team: every penny which is donated to purchase the building is recorded with receipts, and online. The donations page is being updated automatically online – just click on PWA donations 2016.
Congratulations to everyone so far, and we hope you will continue to spread the word and dig into your pockets.
President, PWA Slough
